You’re a Spendy Susie

Yes it is hard if you just love to spend money, and it is understandable if you do. Does it feel as though you could never just create a budget? Well, you are probably the perfect candidate to have a budget, which doesn’t have to mean no spending. Having a budget will just help you see things from a new perspective. You can have money in the bank but know that it is already allocated for something else. Being equipped with this knowledge will help you when shopping  to know that if you purchase something that is not a necessity then you will be sacrificing money which could be used for utilities or future goals like a house or epic holiday! Yes budgeting does mean saying ‘no’ sometimes to something you want in the moment, but what it does mean is that you can say ‘yes’ to your financial goals in the long haul.

3 Tips for you:

  • Set a spending limit when payday comes
  • Set a 24-hour spending rule which will stop impulse buying. After all, if you see something in store you can always go back or order online if you still want it 24 hours later.
  • Only eat out once per week, meal plan instead and create a more manageable food plan.

It is important to note that there is no such thing as a bad money personality. We are all individuals and there are pros and cons to each personality type. The goal of this quiz is to help you understand your own financial habits and mindset a little more in order to plan and adjust to reach your long term goals. Knowing which money personality is more in line with who you are will help you to deal with your own mindset and that of other people in a much more considered manner.

Something that is also important to know is that many of us have primary and secondary money personalities which can conflict with each other. For example,  our primary personality might be a Penny Planner but our secondary personality could be a Spendy Susie, which of course is going to cause us some internal frustrations.
