You’re a Felicity Fly

Someone with a Fly by personality is perhaps the most unique money personality because they don’t really think much about money – at all. So not only do they not overthink it but they also just have no emotional response to money whatsoever and thus it does not drive them either. Fly-by personalities can make great spouses because they are easy going about money matters and will go with what their spouse thinks with regards to financial decisions. They won’t try to be controlling or uptight, but then it can be a challenge for them to stay involved and engaged in the family money decisions. If you have a Fly by personality you may want to automate your finances as much as possible, setting up an automatic payment into savings may work well for you. Make the conscious decision each month to spend a small amount of time thinking about your money for the coming month and where it is best placed.

3 Tips for you:

  • Automate any payments or savings in one sitting so you don’t have to think about it or spend much time on it.
  • Take time to chat about finances with someone you trust and open up about financial plans.
  • Spend a small amount of time monthly monitoring your spending and saving situation for the month ahead.

It is important to note that there is no such thing as a bad money personality. We are all individuals and there are pros and cons to each personality type. The goal of this quiz is to help you understand your own financial habits and mindset a little more in order to plan and adjust to reach your long term goals. Knowing which money personality is more in line with who you are will help you to deal with your own mindset and that of other people in a much more considered manner.

Something that is also important to know is that many of us have primary and secondary money personalities which can conflict with each other. For example,  our primary personality might be a Penny Planner but our secondary personality could be a Spendy Susie, which of course is going to cause us some internal frustrations.
