Over the past few weeks, I’ve had the privilege of partnering with Six Degrees — a vibrant community of women — to host three transformative VIP events: a curated lunch, a mid-year check-in workshop, and an evening of meaningful connection. Across these gatherings, I’ve spoken on panels, shared my own story, and listened — really listened — to others share theirs. What’s emerged has left a lasting impression on me.

There’s a quiet — and sometimes not-so-quiet — strength I’ve witnessed. It threads through every woman’s life story like golden embroidery in a rich tapestry. Sometimes this strength is born in the aftermath of what can be called “life-quakes” — those seismic moments that shift our path. Other times, it’s in the steady courage of showing up, authentically and consistently, even when it feels hard. Especially when it feels hard.

What’s been most powerful isn’t just the individual stories — though each one is a testament to grit and grace — it’s the way we’re coming together. There’s an awakening happening. A sense that it’s not just possible, but necessary, for women to take up space — not at the expense of others, but in collaboration with them. To rise into our potential, not by pushing anyone out, but by bringing everyone in.

This is not about women vs men. It’s about balance, equity, and partnership. About recognising that true strength lies in diversity — of thought, of leadership, of lived experience. That when women are in the room — the boardroom, the policy room, the living room — everyone benefits.

As a financial planner, I see this in a very tangible way. I help women visualise what’s possible, then build the financial scaffolding to support that vision. But what I get to witness — and be part of — is so much more than numbers and spreadsheets. It’s women stepping into who they are meant to be. It’s the ripple effect of empowered decisions. It’s community, generosity, and shared success.

What if we made space for more of this?

What if success was redefined — not as individual achievement, but as collective elevation?

That’s the future I want to help build.
